Our aim is to help get you back on the road as soon as possible. So, no matter where you are nationwide, our National Recovery policy can still get you to where you need to go.
There are a number of options, which include arranging and paying to get you to your original destination, from 24-hour car rental, or overnight stay allowance or transporting you, your passengers and your vehicle to your home or the motor repairers local to your home.
Plus, our Doorstep option covers your vehicle at home or within one mile of your home. Prices start from £70 for vehicles under 3 years old.
We take care of everything so you don’t have to, and someone is always available at the end of the phone to help you every step of the way.
Main Benefits
Callout and Assistance
If your vehicle breaks down more than one mile from home and you are unable to drive the vehicle covered under this policy as a result of mechanical breakdown, accidental damage, fire, attempted theft, flat battery, or accidental damage to tyres, we will pay for the cost of up to three call outs per year and up to one hours labour at the roadside and, if necessary, we will transport you and your vehicle up to 10 miles.
For an additional premium we can cover your vehicle for breakdown at your home address or within one mile.
Vehicle Recovery & Onward Transportation
If your vehicle cannot be repaired by the end of the working day, we will pay for you and your vehicle to be taken to your home address, original destination or a repairer near either of these locations. OR
We will pay up to £100 for - a replacement self drive Group A rental vehicle for up to 24 hours, OR
- the cost of public transport to allow you to complete your journey, OR
- the cost of necessary overnight bed and breakfast accommodation whilst awaiting repairs to be finished.
Message Relay
If we provide assistance with a breakdown away from your home, we will pass on up to two telephone messages to family or friends advising them of your delay.
Motor Legal Protection
If you are prosecuted following an alleged moving traffic offence committed in the insured vehicle, we will pay up to £5000 in legal costs to defend you against such criminal proceedings. We will also institute legal proceedings on your behalf up to £10,000 to pursue compensation if you are injured in a road traffic accident in the insured vehicle or your vehicle suffers damage whilst being driven by you or in your custody and control. Please note this policy does not cover you for speeding or drink or drug related offences.
Medical Transfer & General Assistance
We will offer telephone assistance to help you transfer to a local hospital if you are hospitalised away from home whilst on a journey. We will also organise the callout of a repairer if you are involved in any motor related problem not covered under this policy.
